Established in 1965 E.C. within the vibrant heart of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Asmelash and Sons Construction Company has stood the test of time as one of Ethiopia’s foremost Grade I building contractors. With an impressive five decades of experience, our company has solidified its reputation as a trusted and distinguished name within the construction industry. Our core business encompasses an extensive spectrum of projects, ranging from the construction of private and public housing to the development of factories, offices, retail units, schools, hospitals, and public buildings. Additionally, we undertake ambitious civil engineering and infrastructure projects, both in the bustling capital of Addis Ababa and the dynamic regional towns.
A Visionary Journey and Evolving Ownership Structure
Founded by the visionary Ato Asmelash Tedla, our company’s history has been marked by evolution and adaptation. In 1981 E.C., a pivotal moment in our journey unfolded as we transitioned into a share company. During this transformation, the ownership structure expanded to include six esteemed Ethiopian family members, collectively holding a registered capital of Birr 10 million. This strategic shift paved the way for further growth and diversification.
Fast forward to 2010 E.C., and another significant change marked our path. With foresight and dynamism, we welcomed two major shareholders, leading to a substantial increase in our registered capital, which surged to Birr 16 million. This transformative phase has been instrumental in fueling our company’s continued success and profound impact within the construction sector.
